Claimstaker is found on the axis between crushing heaviness, vast melodic soundscapes, and well-placed aggressiveness. When Timeworn chose to resign after long and faithful service, the remaining members decided to start with clean slates and a new drive.

With members from i.a. Eskatol, Summon the Crows, Higgs Boson, Blodspor and From Below, the result has become a sonic roundhouse-kick, which embraces both the melancholy as well as the brutality. With pit starter inducing riffs and a "no holds barred" approach, Claimstaker is ready to bring their mixture of hardcore infused with prog elements and a melting pot of metal to the people.

The debut album, “Bury Us in Shadows” was recorded at Caliban Studio in Oslo, Norway together with the very talented producer Ruben Willem (Haust, Kvelertak, Bokassa i.e.), over a course of four days. This has brought a level of high focus with ever present and hard-hitting energy that pummels all the sonic senses. The album is mixed by Andy Nelson at Bricktop Studios and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege.

Not into "sludge" per se, but this Warcrab album is so versatile, no kidding, it did appeal to me. It reminded me a bit of a few bands I liked as teenager, namely Carcass and Crowbar, and that is why this one turned out to be a damn good trip down to memory lane for me ! sachavonkarl74
